(Washington, DC) Tuesday, September 22, 2015 — On September 29, the Animal Health Institute (AHI) will host its 19th annual Celebrity Pet Night on Capitol Hill where members of Congress, their staff, and friends of the animal health community gather to celebrate America’s pets. This year’s celebrity guests include Jagger, canine star of the movie “Max” and Frosty, who plays “Larry” the white cat in the hit television program “Modern Family.”
Pet Night includes the unveiling of the 7th annual Cutest Pets on Capitol Hill contest, with the presentation of the Cutest Dog, Cutest Cat and Cutest Exotic pets of Capitol Hill as nominated by members of Congress and Hill staff. Finalists were chosen by judges Francesca Chambers of the Daily Mail Online, Ashley Gallagher, DVM, of Friendship Hospital, Erwin Gomez of Karma Beauty Lounge, and Michael Schaffer of Washingtonian. The general public is currently voting online at http://healthyanimals.org/vote to select the ultimate winners from among the finalists; winners in each category will be announced during the Pet Night reception.
Attendees are invited to mix and mingle with colleagues and pose for photos with the celebrity guests. In addition to being an annual favorite among Hill staff and animal lovers alike, the event raises awareness about the important connection between animal health and human health.
