2012 Pet Night on Capitol Hill

On September 20, 2012, the Animal Health Institute hosted its 16th annual Celebrity Pet Night on Capitol Hill. The event brought together Members of Congress, congressional staff, and members of the animal health and agriculture community who came ready to pose for photos with the famous pets. This year’s honorees were the talented Jack Russell Terrier Uggie who starred in the award-winning movie “The Artist” and the energetic cat Tennessee who played “Buttercup” in the hit movie “The Hunger Games.”

Members of Congress representing several states were in attendance, including:

  • Congressman Kurt Schrader (D-OR)
  • Congressman Steve Stivers (R-OH)
  • Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-IL)
  • Congressman Jeffrey Denham (R-CA)
  • Congressman Tim Bishop (D-NY)
