Animal Medicines & Pets

Did you know?

  • 62% of U.S. homes have a pet
  • 27% of pet owners celebrate their pet’s birthdays
  • 35% include their pets in a family portrait
  • 43% think their pet has its own sense of style

Pet ownership rates continue to rise, with more than 72 million pet dogs and 82 million pet cats living in U.S. homes. With animals and people living in such close quarters, the health and well-being of these animals is critical. When a pet gets sick, proper medical treatment is necessary.

Animal medicines not only help our four-legged family members live longer, healthier lives, but they help people. Studies have shown that pet owners have fewer minor health problems and better psychological well-being than those without pets. People with healthy pets also have better physical health due to walking and exercising with their animals, and 70 percent of families report an increase in overall happiness after acquiring a family pet. Pets can even increase self-esteem and reduce stress.

Clearly, healthy, happy pets make for healthy, happy people.
