USDA to Analyze GIPSA Rule

The U.S. Department of Agriculture will conduct a cost-benefit analysis of the proposed “GIPSA Rule” that, if adopted, would make significant changes to the way U.S. livestock is marketed, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack told meat industry officials Tuesday. A draft of the rule was published in June, however, major changes could be made to the proposal before it is finalized, according to Hoosier Ag Today.
